  Dr. Joan McCarthy practices General Gynecology. She graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University. She also received a master degree from St. Peters University in Educational Administration. She completed medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey where she was inducted in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of South Florida, where she served as administrative chief resident. She worked as Assistant Professor and  Assistant Residency Director at the University of South Florida for seven years before leaving to enter solo practice at South Tampa Gynecology. She has won CREOG and APGO awards for resident and medical student education.

  Dr. McCarthy believes that through continuous improvement in the office setting, patients can be provided with care that is thorough, medically optimal and convenient.
